DEPARTMENT REGULATION OF TOURIST ACTIVITIES

  1. The department assists and participates in the activities of the Expert Committee on Registration of Tour Operators and Travel Agents (ЕCRTOTA) and the Expert Committee on Categorization and Certification of Tourist Sites (ЕCCCTS); draws up proposals and plans for on-site inspections for categorization and certification of tourist sites, submits them to ECRTOTA and takes part in the inspections;
  2. carries out preliminary control of the applications filed by persons applying for registration for carrying out tour operator and/or tourist agent’s activities and applications for categorization and certification of tourist sites; develops the internal rules of procedure and submits them for approval by the minister for the categorization and certification of tourist sites and for the registration for carrying out tour operator and/or tourist agent’s activities;
  3. carries out preliminary control of the applications filed by persons applying for acquiring the qualification “Mountain guide” and for entry into the List of qualified mountain guides, which is a part of the National Tourist Register;
  4. carries out preliminary control of the applications filed by persons applying for acquiring the qualification “Tour guide” and for entry into the List of qualified tour guides, which is a part of the National Tourist Register.
  5. performs preliminary checks of the applications and participates in the commission on determining the extent of complexity of the ski slopes;
  6. reviews the notifications made by the Chairman of the Commission for the Protection of Consumers as part of his control powers according to the Law on Tourism, proposes to the minister to terminate or lower the category of tourist sites, respectively delete the registration for carrying out tour operator and/or tourist agent’s activities;
  7. issues acts of infringement according to the procedure in the Administrative Violations and Sanctions Act in the event of established violations of the requirements of the Law on Tourism and its implementing regulations, which are explicitly referred to in the law and proposes to the minister to impose fines and property sanctions;
  8. develops and submits for approval by the Minister the models of documents and category symbols for the administrative procedures and services according to the Law for Tourism;
  9. supports the minister in the activities for organization and coordination of the tourist product quality control;
  10. supports initiatives for better regulations and takes part in the preparation of specific proposals for cancellation and/or easing of existing administrative procedures;
  11. organizes the keeping, updating and maintaining of the National Tourist Register;
  12. enters declared changes of circumstances in the National Tourist Register;
  13. issues a duplicate of a certificate of registration or a certificate of granted category;
  14. prepares reports and provides advice for the implementation of the registration regimes according to the Law on Tourism and its implementing regulations.
