The Ministry of Tourism has ordered an immediate inspection of Butamyata beach following media reports and violations detected by the Regional Inspectorate for Environmental Protection of Burgas (RIEW-Burgas) within the boundaries of a protected area under the Protected Areas Act – Strandzha Nature Park.
The inspection of the Eco-Inspection has found the introduction of soil and other fractions and construction activities in the area of the sea beach "Butamyata" near the village of Sinemorets.
A team of experts has been formed on the orders of the Minister of Tourism Miroslav Borshosh to carry out an on-site inspection.
According to the concession contract signed between the concessionaire and the Ministry of Tourism, no illegal construction and/or the placement of unapproved, movable objects and facilities on the concession site and its adjacent water area is allowed and must not be allowed. If the appointed inspection reveals a breach of the contractual provisions, the Ministry of Tourism shall be entitled to impose the appropriate sanctions.
"In the event that a violation of the contractual provisions is found, all sanctions provided for in the current legislation and the contract will be taken, including the imposition of a penalty, and in the event of a systematic violation – the termination of the concession," Minister Borshosh stated.
In the course of the inspection, the Ministry of Tourism will request an explanation and a statement from the concessionaire company regarding the activities carried out and the violations found after the inspection of the Regional Inspectorate of Environmental Protection and Water Management in Burgas.
