[1]The Ministry of Tourism has launched cooperation with the Municipality of Vratsa to build a sustainable model for partnership between the state and local authorities in promoting tourism in different regions of the country. This became clear after Minister Miroslav Borshosh's visit to Vratsa and his meeting with Mayor Kalin Kamenov. The two discussed their vision for the future development of the city, with an economy based on tourism and a new marketing brand that will position Vratsa as the "Festival Capital of Bulgaria." Proof of the municipality's ambitious plans is the calendar of events—82 festivals will be held in the city in 2025, and in order to make them happen, the city's culture budget has been increased by 200% compared to the previous year.
"I congratulate Mayor Kalin Kamenov and his team for their courageous and consistent work to develop the region and focus on tourism as a strategic sector and a leading driver of growth for the local economy. The Ministry of Tourism will support this vision and will be a loyal partner to every municipality that has a clear concept of the type of tourism it wants to develop and what it wants to show to Bulgaria and the world," said Minister Borshosh, assuring that Vratsa will be included as a tourist destination in digital advertising as part of a campaign by the national tourism portal VisitBulgaria.com.
The mayor commented that he hopes the region will attract larger and foreign investors. In addition, Kalin Kamenov shared that, apart from festival tourism, the city has potential for the development of adventure tourism, which he believes is a trend and will attract more and more visitors.
