Tourism associations are legal non-profit entities as per the Non-profit Legal Persons Act whose business includes activities related to tourism.

According to the Tourism Act, tourism associations are:

1. on territorial principle basis - national, regional and local tourism associations;
2. on product basis - trade and product tourism associations.

Tourism associations submit documents needed for their enlistment in the National Tourism Register to the Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism. Those documents are listed in the Tourism Act and the Ordinance of the Organization of Unified Tourism Information System.
