Georgi Kolevichin from the Ministry of Tourism Climbed Mount Everest

Georgi Kolevichin, an official at the Ministry of Tourism, climbed Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak at 8,848 m. This is yet another major achievement in his mountaineering career and a source of pride for both Bulgarian mountaineering and the Ministry’s team.

Kolevichin has already conquered a number of major peaks. In 2026, he climbed Makalu (8,485 m), the fifth-highest peak on the planet, and in 2025, he also reached the summit of Manaslu (8,163 m). In 2024, he was honored by the Ministry of Tourism as an “Ambassador for Bulgaria as a Destination” following his successful ascent of Abu Ali ibn Sina, also known as Lenin Peak (7,134 m).

With his ascent of Everest, Georgi Kolevichin continues his journey among the world’s highest peaks and demonstrates the power of perseverance, preparation, and leading by example.
