Minister Ilin Dimitrov: We will build on the strong interest of Polish tourists in Bulgaria

The Ministry of Tourism is preparing B2B meetings in September and a presentation of Bulgaria to the Polish tourism sector

"The Polish market is developing extremely well and we want to turn the sustainable growth into even more year-round travel between the two countries," the Minister of Tourism Dr. Ilin Dimitrov said during a meeting with the Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of Poland in Bulgaria Anna Janiszewska-Frączek. Minister Dimitrov presented the initiatives that the Ministry of Tourism is preparing to expand contacts between businesses on both sides. An event is planned in September with the participation of representatives of the Polish tourism sector and tour operators, which will provide an opportunity for new B2B meetings, exchange of information and negotiation of joint initiatives. The organization of a roadshow in Poland with the participation of Bulgarian tourism companies was also discussed.

"After this meeting, we should have a clear plan for what we can do together. We want not only more Poles to visit Bulgaria, but also more Bulgarians to discover the opportunities for urban, cultural and event tourism in Poland," the Minister emphasized.

Anna Janiszewska-Frączek pointed out that Poland remains one of the main tourist markets for Bulgaria, and interest is supported by good air connections with Sofia, Varna and Burgas. She confirmed the Embassy's readiness to assist in the participation of Polish experts and tourism organizations in the upcoming event in September.

Mountain tourism was highlighted among the opportunities for expanding the season. Minister Dimitrov proposed that a special presentation be organized in Bansko in 2027 before the diplomatic corps, which would showcase the resort's capabilities and the quality of the Bulgarian winter tourism product.
