Minister of Tourism Miroslav Borshosh, Minister of Youth and Sports Ivan Peshev, and Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Regional Policy, Public Works, and Local Self-Government Nikolay Nankov gathered representatives of state and local authorities, as well as interested parties, including the Executive Secretary of the Bulgarian Tourist Union Lachezar Lazarov, the Chairman of the Union of Architects in Bulgaria Arch. Petar Dikov, as well as chairmen of committees in the Sofia City Council. The meeting was dedicated to the sustainable development of mountain tourism, and the main topic of discussion was the need for coordinated action to develop mountain infrastructure. During the meeting, specific steps were discussed to ensure better accessibility, modernization of existing facilities, and construction of new ones.

The working group gave everyone the opportunity to present their positions, and at the end of the meeting, the participants agreed that the proposals submitted should be summarized and submitted to the National Assembly in a timely manner so as to ensure a comprehensive legal framework for the development of mountain tourism in Bulgaria.

"There is a will to make mountain tourism in Bulgaria more accessible and sustainable. All future actions will be based on nature conservation, but also on creating real conditions for people to play sports, travel, and be active in nature," emphasized Minister Miroslav Borshosh.

The chairman of the parliamentary committee on regional policy, public works, and local self-government, Nikolay Nankov, said that the development of mountain ecosystems should not be seen as an alternative to their protection, but as an interrelated process. "Inaction in recent years has led to serious delays. We cannot afford any more procrastination. The changes must be proposed as a package so that we can provide a comprehensive and sustainable response. This is a national resource that is not being fully utilized," Nikolay Nankov said.

"The Vitosha National Ski Resort is a strategically important site for the development of winter sports and tourism in the country. Our common task and goal is to create conditions for the development of ski tourism and sports and tourism activities, to attract more tourists from both the country and abroad by providing modern infrastructure, safety, and quality services," said Minister of Youth and Sports Ivan Peshev.
