One of the most attractive and remarkable sites in today's Kazanlak is The Shipkoff House. The house was built in 1902. They were one of the wealthiest Kazanlak families selling rose oil. Restored the house today has several different halls that tell moments from the history of the Shipkoff's family.
Kancho Shipkov, who remained an orphan at age 10, comes to Kazanlak, driven by his instincts of survival. Beginning from scratch, he built one of the first millionaire companies in Bulgaria and turns Bulgarian rose oil into a symbol of Bulgarian state, recognizable all over the world.
At the lower level of the house there is a workshop where the souvenir products of the house are prepared - made entirely by hand and own design. The workshop is open to visitors who are welcome to participate in the creative process and make their own souvenirs.
